Are you getting ready to move out of your rental? Chances are, you’re eager to get your security deposit back in full. To make sure you get the best return on your deposit, you’ll need to make sure that your rental is cleaned to perfection. Follow our ultimate checklist for end of tenancy cleaning to make sure you get a glowing review from your landlord!.
Bedrooms
The first step is to get rid of dust and dirt. Cleaning rooms from top to bottom is the best way to deal with this.
Take the spider webs off the ceilings and corners.
Dust surfaces you can reach, like closets, shelves, and cabinets.
Dust and dirt should be wiped off the tops of doors.
Clean the dust off the tops of picture frames.
Clean the dust off the curtain rods.
Both sides of curtains and blinds should be dusted and vacuumed the right way
Clean and shine mirrors, pictures, and other items on the wall.
Clean the light fixtures and lamp shades.
Clean and shine metal pieces
Clean and shine switches.
Clean or re-paint walls that are dirty.
Clean the plugs and extension cords carefully.
Clean all mattresses with a vacuum.
Mop laminate and hard floors in the bathroom.
Bathrooms
Bathrooms are the worst places to see and deal with dirt and mildew. Clean and polish as well as you can the toilets, showers, tiles, and baths.
Clean sinks, faucets, and other parts.
Remove stains from hard water
If there is limescale, clean and rinse soap dispensers.
Clean and shine radiators and towel racks.
Scrub the toilet and bidet and flush them.
If you can reach it, clean the pipes behind the toilet

Kitchens

Furnishings
During inspections, landlords or their letting agents will pick up any dirty furniture. You must wipe, vacuum, and clean all furniture with care.
Wipe down and shine tables, countertops, and other worktops.
Make sure you get rid of all smudges and marks.
Look for signs of oil.
Take your couch cushions outside and beat them until the dust is gone.
Move all the furniture to clean under it. Vacuum the sofa with and without its cushions. Wipe and polish all the wooden pieces.
Carpets
Carpets are always looked at closely by landlords and people who rent out homes. Carpet cleaning is one of the hardest things to do, and the best way to do it is to rent a carpet cleaning machine.
Completely vacuum all the edges of the carpet
Move the furniture and clean under it.
If you can, clean with steam
Note: If you don’t have a carpet cleaner, try washing stains by hand.
Windows
Before you move out, you should clean everything in your rental property from top to bottom. Even the inside of the windows need to be cleaned.
Get rid of any smudges, fingerprints, and oily spots.
Wipe it down so there won’t be streaks when it dries.
Remove dust and clean the window sills.
Clean the frames
There are drawers, closets, and shelves.
People often forget to clean out a drawer or cabinet they don’t use very often. Always check everything in every drawer, cabinet, and shelf.
